Hansie- The Movie

I went to see the movie about the life of Hansie Cronje today. It brought back so many memories, discussions and lessons about life in our home.

Justin was and still is a cricket addict. He loves the game and Hansie was his hero as a teenager.
We watched the return of South Africa into international cricket through the night, he and his friends played cricket outside our house for more years than I can remember and Justin and his Gran share a very special bond after watching many cricket matches together in our home.

The lesson and discussion we had at the time was:

Never cross the line. NOT EVER. You need to live with yourself and it does not matter if no-one knows, it still is not ok.

The lesson Hansie learnt was that The Truth would set him free and that he had a Father in heaven and on earth who loved and forgave him.

Thank you to the Cronje family for sharing the Truth with all South Africans.

We salute and honour the memory of your son and thank you for the leadership lessons he taught my son.

Thank you for the posting and the memories.. I appreciate it so much!

Hansie was and always will be my childhood hero, no matter what he did - everyone makes these mistakes and he learnt from them.

Lots of love

Just

Here here to that - and what incredible lessons they were! Coupled with the awesome love and nuturing from his special Mom - I'd say your son turned out pretty jolly fine (ok, we're both biased on that topic I guess).

I love the pride and adoration you two share for eachother. Just was so touched by your posting... thank you for creating this wonderfully sensitive man and thank you for sharing him with me so selflessly Mom-in-law of the century!!

Hi Lynda, good to read this blog of yours, which encourages to seek God's guidence in face of strong temptations. And also that when we seek His forgiveness, no matter what the world says, we can live in peace with God and with ourselves.

God bless you.
