Family Affair- Common Wealth Games

Just over 5 years ago we had a family get together at a place called Warthogs near Magliesberg. It was to celebrate my mother's 73 rd birthday. The venue had clay pigeon shooting and the boys decided to try their luck on the Saturday afternoon.

I have triplet niece and nephews who at the time were 12. The owner who had been a SA champion mentioned to my brother that both boys seemed to have a natural talent and that maybe they should pursue this as a hobby.

Well that hobby became a passion and over the last 5 years they have climbed all the way to the top of their league. Both boys have SA colours both as juniors and seniors and were part of the SA team that won the World Cup as juniors earlier this year.
Last Sunday they jetted out to India to represent South Africa. My brother was chosen as their manager so the DAVIS CLAN have three representatives at the games.

It has been such a privilege to watch them grow, stay focused and still achieve in everything else they do.

I proudly sit now and watch as the SA team enter the stadium with three family members who have walked a long journey to reach this point.

Let the games begin.
