Wise words from Mother Teresa

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies. Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you. Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone may destroy overnight, Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough. But give the world the best you have anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is all between you and God: it was never between you and them anyway.

Spiritual Capital -Wealth we can live by

I have just finished reading a book called Spiritual Capital by Dahah Zohar and Ian Marshall.A great book for any leader wanting to understand top level leadership for the 21st century. Here is an extract from the book.

I believe that global business has the money and the power to make a significant difference in today's troubled world and that by making the difference it can help itself as well as others. I envision business raising its sights above the bottom line.I envision business becoming a vocation, like the higher professions. To make this possible I believe that business must add a moral dimension, becoming more service and value orientated and largely eliminating the assumed natural distinction between private enterprise and public institutions. I envisage business taking responsibility for the world in which it operates and from which it creates its wealth. And I envisage myself becoming one of those business leaders who are "servant leaders" - leaders who serve not just shareholders, colleagues, employees, products and customers but leaders who also serve the community, the planet, humanity, the future and life itself.

Disaster Management Strategy

This past week I visited Ground Zero where the greatest man made disaster of all time occurred.
I also visited Patong Beach, Phuket 3 months after the Tsunami. The greatest naturel disaster to hit the world this century.
I am amazed at the human power that emerges after such an event. What would our world be like if we cared enough to change lives every day rather than wait for a disaster?
