My Verse for 2025: A Journey of Gratitude and Peace
Each year, I choose a Bible verse to anchor my spiritual journey.
For 2025, I’ve chosen Colossians 3:15 (TPT):
"Let your heart be always guided by the peace of the Anointed One, who
called you to peace as part of His one body. And always be thankful."
This past week, someone mentioned there are
only 80 days left until the new year. That number stirred something in me—a
gentle nudge to be more mindful, more grateful. In a world so often overwhelmed
by trauma and noise, I want to pause and notice the blessings.
I’ve been inspired by Ann Voskamp’s book One
Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are. One thousand may
be a stretch—but eighty? That feels possible. So I’m committing to 80 days of
gratitude, starting Monday, 13 October.
Another gentle rhythm in my life has been
colouring in The Illustrated Words of Jesus for Women, a devotional
colouring book I discovered at Cum Books. Each morning, I sit quietly, read,
colour, and listen. It’s become a sacred space—creative, reflective, and deeply
grounding.
I also use the Lectio 365 app, a daily
devotional that helps me pray the Bible and shape my life around God’s
presence. These tools have become companions in my spiritual practice.
So, here’s my invitation: I’ll be posting one
encouraging thought each day for the next 80 days. It’s a mindful discipline
for me, but I hope it will also stir something in you—a deeper awareness of
your own place of joy and peace.
As I approach my 69th birthday in January
2026, I’ll be reflecting on my final year in my sixties. I trust that through
this process, God will reveal my verse for the year ahead.
This journey is about rhythm, routine, and
renewal. It grounds me. It focuses me. It stirs my spirit.
Please join me. Let’s walk these 80 days together—with gratitude, peace, and
expectation.
